My mother made it plain and clear to us that we had to do whatever my eldest sister said because she was in charge. For many years, we were more frightened of my sister’s wrath than my mother’s. You know, this respect for the position of authority was so entrenched in us that when my mother made her transition from this life, we all looked to my eldest sister for guidance.   1. You know what I think people respect about your writing, Jacqui? It’s the same as with my pastor: You tell the truth AND you offer examples from your life. So you’re not just here preaching to us and, ahem, shaking your finger at us. You’re telling us, “Look, here’s how it affected me.”

  2. I do believe experience is the best teacher. My experiences are what I draw from in my writings. I’m not here to preach, but to provide a platform that allows people to introspectively look at themselves in order for them to become all God envisioned.
