Awe-Inspiring Michelle! Passion! Poise! Power!

night watching Michelle Obama speak was an invigorating experience. She literally knocked it out of the park! What passion! What poise! What power! It was a
we-inspiring. The only way you were not impassioned by Michelle’s speech, you had to be dead! Her words moved the very core of your being. You can’t fake passion o
r compassion!

As the first African-American woman to be the First Lady of our nation she wears the title well. For me she echoes empowerment of self as much as she echoes

does others. In essence, her very persona exemplifies that she is a trend setter and not a trend follower. You got to love her!

She is secure in her own skin. No apologies necessary. Her genuineness causes you to look at her as an intimate friend, yet you are awe-struck of her regal stature. As she stood on that platform with thousands in the audiences and millions all across the world watching, she had a mission to accomplish and she did it with class, style and authority. She commanded the evening.

She reminded us about her husband and her children’s father. In essence, she sentimentally took us down memory lane to remember when they waltzed into our lives and provided hope to a country that so desperately needed hope. Were they a panacea? No way! But they did provide us with hope in the American dream that if you work hard and do the right things then no matter what your background may be you can achieve success.

Each of them did. They weren’t born with silver spoons in their mouths. Their lives espoused to their beliefs and provide us with hope that we don’t have to accept the status quo. That we can believe in the impossible.

For those of us who continue to realize that they inherited a huge mess, that is stating it lightly, we still stand with them. They are the American Dream exemplified two-times over. Our respect for them is because they are not only committed to each other, their children, and family, but they are committed to each of us regardless of who you are.

It caused me to ponder about why I like them and why I support them. It has nothing to do with them living in the White House, but it has all to do with how they live in the White House.

They make you proud to be an American and even more proud to be an African-American. They always exhibit the highest integrity, even in the face of the blatant disrespect that has been targeted towards them. Yet, they let us know every day that we can accomplish the impossible.

As First Lady Michelle stood there talking about her husband and family, it was such a great moment. She spoke with such passion and vigor. For me, not only did it cause me to reflect on why I voted for her husband, but it reinforced my decision to do it again. Do I need four more years of the Obamas? You bet I do! In my opinion, we all do!

Don’t squander your vote! I encourage each of you to seek God for direction and vote wisely. Please keep First Lady Michelle, her husband and family in your prayers.

Who may make discovery of a woman of virtue? For her price is much higher than jewels. The heart of her husband has faith in her, and he will have profit in full measure. She does him good and not evil all the days of her life. She gets wool and linen, working at the business of her hands. She is like the trading-ships, getting food from far away. She gets up while it is still night, and gives meat to her family, and their food to her servant-girls. After looking at a field with care, she gets it for a price, planting a vine-garden with the profit of her work. She puts a band of strength round her, and makes her arms strong. She sees that her marketing is of profit to her: her light does not go out by night. She puts her hands to the cloth-working rod, and her fingers take the wheel. Her hands are stretched out to the poor; yes, she is open-handed to those who are in need. She has no fear of the snow for her family, for all those in her house are clothed in red. She makes for herself cushions of needlework; her clothing is fair linen and purple. Her husband is a man of note in the public place, when he takes his seat among the responsible men of the land. She makes linen robes and gets a price for them, and traders take her cloth bands for a price. Strength and self-respect are her clothing; she is facing the future with a smile. Her mouth is open to give out wisdom, and the law of mercy is on her tongue. She gives attention to the ways of her family, she does not take her food without working for it. Her children get up and give her honour, and her husband gives her praise, saying, Unnumbered women have done well, but you are better than all of them. Fair looks are a deceit, and a beautiful form is of no value; but a woman who has the fear of the Lord is to be praised. Give her credit for what her hands have made: let her be praised by her works in the public place. Prov 31:10-31 (BBE)

Father, We pray that you keep First Lady Michelle Obama and her family under your watchful eye and in Your arms of protection. Bless her as she stands with the President in this hour. We thank you for allowing her to be our First Lady as she exemplifies the strength of womanhood in all its facets-wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, business woman and so much more. Bless us to stand with her as she stands with her husband in this hour of decision. Bless us to vote wisely, not by political propaganda but through seeking You to lead and guide us to make the right choice.  Amen
