Which Way Should I Go? Go Left and Not Right

“Can you give me some directions,” the tourist asked. My friend would proceed to give the wrong directions. Initially I thought she didn’t know the right way to go, but I came to realize that she intentionally provided the wrong directions. I didn’t understand it then and I don’t understand it now. So, whenever we were together and someone asked for directions, I immediately would speak up and provide them with the correct ones to avoid having to correct hers.

You have to be careful who you ask for directions. Their goal is to make sure you do not get to your destination. They will intentionally, without any justifiable reason, give you inaccurate information simply because they want to do it. It doesn’t have anything to do with you, but it has to do with them and their heart issues.

Avoid being sent in the wrong direction by asking God to make sure you encounter the right people with the right heart. As you meander through life you are going to meet some unsavory people who are wolves in sheep’s clothing. You have to be able to discern their motives and their intent. They may look like they are sheep and even smell like a sheep, but they are not sheep. They are wolves. A wolf in sheep’s clothing still has the heart of a wolf.

Everybody does not have the intent to deceive you. You cannot become so paranoid either that you feel you cannot trust anyone. There are those who will provide you with accurate information and whose express intent is not to harm but to help you. Trust is still needed. Sometimes it is hard to trust when you encounter distrustful people. Be careful not to become so distrustful. In doing so, there is a chance you will miss a great opportunity.

Understand the lay of the land. When you plan ahead you can avoid having to always ask for directions. Your due diligence can prevent you from receiving the wrong information because you will already have a strategy to reach your goal.

Just because you may have lost your way doesn’t mean you can’t get back on track. Don’t become disoriented and discouraged. You don’t want to become so fearful that you can’t exercise good judgment. Stay focus on your ultimate goal because even the best thought out plans must have room for contingency. Be adaptable to embrace a new way of doing things and flexible enough to still get the job done in the allotted time.

Always keep a positive open mind. Yes, someone may not have the best intentions, but always focus on the positive. Look at the glass as almost full as opposed to being almost empty. Just because the directions given may be wrong, always ask yourself what is the lesson in it for you. In this way, regardless of how wrongful the intent you will always be able to transform a negative situation into a positive one.

You may take a wrong left, but a positive open mind will always guide you in reaching your right goal.

Father, More than anything I feel fire shut up in my bones igniting with passion to do the impossible. Obstacles and barriers no longer prevent me from achieving success. I am successful because You said I am successful. Whatever You say I am that is who I am. You define me and my destiny. I walk boldly and confidently in Your definition to achieve success. Amen.
