Not so macoke and pepsiny years ago I was addicted to Diet Pepsi. I’d get to work, put all my stuff down and head straight to the Pepsi machine to get my first one for the day. Comings & Goings: Vicissitudes of Life

This past comings & goings jasSunday I experienced one of life’s most precious moments of my niece, who is also like my daughter, baby’s birth. What an awesome experience to watch the miracle of living coming forth. It makes you marvel at God! As we were basking in the celebration of birth, it brought memories of another Sunday not too many weeks prior when I stood at the foot of her brother’s bed and watch life, as we know it in this world, slip away.    read more…

Stronger Than Death! A Love Worth Fighting For

While working for a love is strongermagazine publishing company in Washington DC, I was in the ladies room and a colleague of mine came in after me. I was compelled to wait patiently for her and then I approached her. She and I were the highest ranking African-Americans at the company and we had struck up a friendship early on. As we stood in that ladies room I begin to speak with her. Initially she was hesitant about engaging in conversation with me because of the rift that had been created from the remarks that had been told to each us by others.     read more…

 

Hosanna! Hosanna! I Love God!

I was attending an awards dinner with a close friend of mine and someone at the table stated how much they loved some food item on the table. My friend immediately said how she didn’t use the word “love” so loosely. She went on to state how people quickly say how much they love something or someone and yet they don’t treat them as though they truly love them.      read more…
