I Am Thankful! For All You Do!

While working for the Census I attended a church and the word for that day was “thankful”. I remember listening to the speaker expound how we have so much to be thankful about. Re-Elected and it Feels So Good: Faithfulness of God’s Word

There is something to be said about the mighty move and power of God. I’m always in awe of His sovereignty. This week God showed Himself faithful once again.

I can remember early in 2008 when I didn’t even know Barak Obama. Hadn’t really been following the elections, but just assumed I would vote for Hillary Clinton. Then one day as I was watching television, Barak Obama was talking. A quiet inner voice whispered to vote for him because he was going to be the next President.

Well, I didn’t know much about him. So, I started out doing my research. The more I found out about him the more I liked him.

One day while walking in Inglenook Park in Southfield, I happened upon a worker for the Obama campaign. It was around the time John McCann announced that Sarah Palin would be his running mate. The campaign worker and I chatted. She was concerned about Sarah Palin running and that it would prevent Barak Obama from winning. I recall reassuring her that it was nothing but a distraction and that Obama was definitely going to win and not only was he going to win, but he was going to serve two terms.

I held on to those words that God whispered in my spirit and the words that I recanted to the woman. I trusted in the word of God. On Tuesday, November 6, 2012, God’s Words were manifested. I do believe the opposing side did a lot of things to prevent President Obama from being re-elected. No matter what they did, how much money they spent and who promised Mitt Romney that they could deliver the presidency on a silver platter, God had the final say.

God will even bring your enemies and use them as the footstool for your elevation. When Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie expounded accolades for President Obama’s handling of the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, it elevated all that President Obama stood for which is to work together and break the partisan barriers. God is sovereign! God is awesome!

One can say that President Obama’s team executed tremendous strategy. Yes they did. Never forget that it is God’s super on man’s natural where great feats are accomplished against insurmountable odds. Man does what he knows to do, but God finalizes it by ensuring that His sovereign will reigns supreme.

Throughout the election and during the last four years of President Obama’s presidency, I have been outraged about the total disrespect for the man and the office. Maybe I’m bias, and I guess I am, but I have the highest respect, honor and yes love for my President. I’m happy to be alive to witness such an act of courage, confidence and integrity not only with the President, but my First Lady as well. I’m proud that they are African Americans, just like me.

So many of us prayed hard during this 2012 presidential campaign, but the true intercession begins now because our President needs our prayers more than ever. Our President needs us to stand with him as never before. We simply need to have his back!

I’m fired up! I’m ready to go! Support my President even more.

However, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, search for me, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear {their prayer} from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their country. Every person should obey the government in power. No government would exist if it hadn’t been established by God. The governments which exist have been put in place by God. Romans 13:1 (GW)

Place yourselves under the authority of human governments to please the Lord. Obey the emperor. He holds the highest position of authority. Also obey governors. They are people the emperor has sent to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do right. 1 Peter 2:13-14 (GW)

Make clear to them that they are to put themselves under rulers and authorities, to do what they are ordered, to be ready for every good work, Titus 3:1 (BBE)

PRAYER

Father, You are so faithful. We thank You for allowing President Barack Obama to be our Commander-in-Chief for four more years. As we peer out on the horizon of these next four years of his leadership under Your guidance, we pray that Your Almighty protection be with him and his family. Keep him protected and covered in your blood. We decree and declare that no weapon formed against him, his family, Vice President Joe Biden and his family, and his cabinet shall prosper and every tongue that rises against them will not prosper. Keep him in Your secret place under Your Almighty wings. Reveal any covert activity that seeks to destroy him. Give him the humility and courage to make the tough decisions and the compassion to love and stand for the people. Never allow President Obama to ever think that any of this is within his own might and power, but always remember that it is by the Spirit of the Living God that placed him in this position of world-wide authority. Everything that he does he will do to glorify You. Bless those in the Senate and the House of Representatives to work alongside him in non-partisan unity on behalf of the American people. Bless each of us, every American citizen, to stand with the President as never before in unity and harmony. God bless America to stand on the Word of God, which is the foundation of this country. Bless us to stay fired up and ready to go in moving America forward. Amen

A No Name! Not Really!

On a shopping excursion with my niece and her Father, my niece was determined to get the coat she wanted. Her primary requisite was that it carried the Baby Phat name because everyone else had the coat. She found the coat that she wanted and kept trying to ditch me and ease to the register to have her Dad purchase it.   read more . . .
