Prayer For Success January 31

prayer for success showersPRAYER FOR SUCCESS: Father, I thank you for releasing me from the bondage of debt. It was like a trellis around my neck and I just couldn’t break free of it. Regardless of how you set me free from debt, I learned some valuable lessons about exercising discipline in spending and managing my affairs with integrity. I know I made the vow; and I thank you for blessing me to honor the vow and pay my debt. Even though it may appear as though it was too much, You also made a way of escape for me to come from under the bondage of credit. In the midst of it, I am no longer slave to the master called Credit. I have been set free by the blood of the Lamb and the words of my testimony. Hallelujah! Thank You God! Amen.

prayer for success showersPRAYER FOR SUCCESS: Father, All of us have fallen short of Your glory. Bless me to provide the same grace and mercy You have bestowed on me on others. Rather than pass harsh judgment, bless me to exhibit the same compassion towards others that You have towards me. Perfect love conquers all. Bless me to exhibit love to everyone regardless if I personally know them or not and especially if they have done anything wrongful against me. You are love! I am made in Your image, therefore I am a vessel of love showering others with Your love wherever I go. In doing so, You will be glorified at home, at worship and in the marketplace. Amen.

Promotion Comes From God: Why Question God’s Sovereignty?

Waobama president inaugural barack michelle potus tching the Presidential Inaugural Address I couldn’t help but think about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and how he would have felt witnessing the first African-American being sworn into office not just once, but twice. I can only imagine that he would have been just as proud  as many of us were. Listening to President Barack Obama’s speech it resonated with the voice of Dr. King.

I am one who knows that God is not a God of happenstance or coincidence. I don’t believe that it was by chance that on the day Dr. King’s birthday was observed, President Obama took the oath of office for a second term. What a great birthday memorial to the great civil rights leader. A prophet in his own right, Dr. King predicted that within 40 years we would have an African-American President. Now some would say what if Mitt Romney had won. Now wouldn’t that have been an oxymoron of sorts to have someone sworn in on Dr. King’s birthday who is affiliated with a religious sect that only opened its doors to African-Americans because they did not want to lose their non-profit status.

It is obvious that President Obama has such high respect for Dr. King as he also does President Abraham Lincoln. Both of these men fought and died for the injustices waged against Americans. Each of them fought and died so every American had the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I’m sure, as Dr. King was proud of President Obama so was Abraham Lincoln. Having the Bibles of both of these men was like having them standing alongside him.

When I think about America and how it is considered the world’s super power, I’m also amazed at the polarization of our nation. We are one nation under God and know that all men are created equal. As an African-American woman I sometimes wonder how many of us truly believe that we are one nation with everyone having the same rights and privileges.

Over these past years of President Obama’s presidency, it has been interesting how the position has been totally desecrated by those who covet it. Never mind if you don’t like the person, but you must respect the position. If you cannot respect the position, something is amiss. Regardless if you support or do not support President Obama, you still must respect the position. Anything less is an outright display of immaturity and disrespect for the position of the President of the United States.

Recently while watching Alex Haley’s Roots: The Next Generation, my prism of experience expanded my understanding from when I originally watched it. After this past presidential election, I more intimately could relate to what they must have experienced. It didn’t matter if they held a position of respect. Just like President Obama, the respect for the position did not supersede the disdain for the man. There were those who pledged that they would do whatever it took to get Blacks out of office. Just like there were those who made a pledge to make sure President Obama served only one term and did whatever, to no avail, what they could to prevent it.

I respect the Office of the President of the United States. For me, it doesn’t matter who God has seen fit to place in office, I have respect for the position. I may not espouse to all of their ideologies, politics, beliefs and I may not like them personally; but I have a mandate from God, which is in His Word, to respect and honor those that are in authority and to pray for them.

Promotion in our world only comes from God. Man, regardless if it is by election or not, may think that they are in control, but only God knows the outcome. Only God knows why He has ordained for President Barack Obama to assume the office of President of the United States for yet a second term. Who are we to question God’s sovereignty?

SCRIPTURES

Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. Psalms 75:5-7 (KJV)

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. Prov 29:2 (KJV)

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 1 Tim 2:1-4 (KJV)

However, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, search for me, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear {their prayer} from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their country. My eyes will be open, and my ears will pay attention to those prayers at this place 2 Chron 7:14-15 (GW)

Every person should obey the government in power. No government would exist if it hadn’t been established by God. The governments which exist have been put in place by God. Romans 13:1 (GW)

Place yourselves under the authority of human governments to please the Lord. Obey the emperor. He holds the highest position of authority. Also obey governors. They are people the emperor has sent to punish those who do wrong and to praise those who do right. 1 Peter 2:13-14 (GW)

Make clear to them that they are to put themselves under rulers and authorities, to do what they are ordered, to be ready for every good work, Titus 3:1 (BBE)

PRAYER

Father,I pray for our President on today that he will lead this country as You lead Him. Bless him to stand up for justice and to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. Bless Him with Your wisdom, understanding, counsel, might and knowledge as he gives reverence to You in order to be lead by Your Holy Spirit. Keep our President covered in Your blood and no weapon formed against him, his family or cabinet will prosper and every tongue that rises up against him is already condemned. Bless those who may not agree with him, but to be able to respect the position and especially those of the household of faith. Bless our leaders in the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government to work together on behalf of You and the people. Bless the people to pray as never before for our leaders at every level for them to seek Your guidance and direction as they lead our country, our states, our counties, our cities, and our towns. Amen

Prayer For Success January 23

prayer for success showersPRAYER FOR SUCCESS: Father, I am so close to achieving all You have shown me. I am ready to move out of the realm of almost into the realm of achievement. I don’t want to look back and regret that I was so close to victory, but haunting words bellow out that I was almost successful. You created me to be successful and I will be relentless in pursuit of the fulfillment of my dreams. I will not stop or allow anyone else to deter me from my dreams. Fear no longer has dominion over me and will not be a catalyst in preventing me from forging ahead with perseverance and determination. Those sad words “not quite, but almost” are no longer a part of my vernacular. I can, I will, and I have already achieved are words that propel me to victory every time. Amen.

Prayer For Success January 19

prayer for success showersPRAYER FOR SUCCESS: Father, The rain drops of life may fall, but I will not be overwhelmed. I am an over comer. I know that these are Your showers of blessing raining down on me. They represent Your promise that I am coming forth as pure gold. No matter what happens, I am already victorious in everything I do. The rain drops only proclaim that the manifestation of Your best for me is yet to come, because at the end of the rainbow are Your promises of an abundant life chocked-full of gold victories again and again and again. Amen.

My boundaries are enlarged—not just geographical boundaries, but the boundaries of my mind. Each day You do exceedingly beyond my loftiest imagination. I unequivocally know I can have whatever You say I can have in this vast world of opportunities. Every single day I revel in the abundant life You promised and envisioned for me. Amen

Breaking Strongholds: Corporate Commitment

FASTINGA few years ago I was asked to expound on the discipline of fasting. During my preparation I was lead to review my own commitment. I was amazed as I counted the days realizing that I annually fast almost a quarter of the year. I’m not boasting, but it amazed me because I had never given much thought to fasting, I just did it because I knew that I was led to fast through the promptings of the Holy Spirit.

One of my sisters once said to me that she was so glad to see me eat. I asked her, “Why is that?” She said because most of the time you don’t eat because you are fasting. I found it amusing that she had even noticed.

The other day I was in a discussion with another beloved sister as we discussed this season of fasting. It is amazing the number of people I talk with that has committed to the Daniel Fast. In conversations with people, on the Internet and even the television people have embraced this 21-day commitment to fast.

Now, many may say it is just a coincidence. I have come to realize that God is not a God of coincidence. He is a purposeful God. I’ve also come to realize that when there is such an outpour of unity surrounding something God is setting things in order. Fasting is a discipline that sets things in order and breaks the back of strongholds and those habits that have prevented you from becoming all God would have for you to be, not just individually but collectively as well.

There will be many who individualize the fast for personal reasons from breaking out of the shackles of gluttony, breaking through the ceiling of poverty and a host of other reasons. When so many people concentrate on fasting in the same fashion at virtually the same time, this is a corporate clarion call that has gone forth. It is a mandate from God. It is not by happenstance, but it is purposeful.

During the month of January almost every day of the month thousands of people will be in the process of the 21-day fast. In essence, it is a first fruits offering to God. Fasting is a sacrifice because you make a decision to obey and offer yourself to God by refraining from partaking in the delicacies of this word that holds you in bondage, not to mention that tacitly destroy the mind, body and soul.

A corporate commitment to the sacrifice means that there will be corporate breakthroughs. I don’t purport to know all that God is doing, but I do know that this is a season of fasting, cleansing, preparation for great expectations and an outpour of God’s Spirit. Yes, there are strongholds that are being broken off of our families, our communities, our places of worship, our schools, our businesses and our country.

For whatever reason you have committed to fast, but know this one thing; you have embarked on and are in the midst of a supernatural move of God to break the strongholds in the atmosphere of our lives. These things can only be broken through fasting and prayer.

SCRIPTURES

Cry aloud! Don’t hold back! Raise your voice like a ram’s horn. Tell my people about their rebellion and the descendants of Jacob about their sins. They look for me every day and want to know my ways. They act as if they were a nation that has done what is right and as if they haven’t disregarded God’s judgment {on them}. They ask me for just decrees. They want God to be near them. Why have we fasted if you are not aware of it? Why have we inflicted pain on ourselves if you don’t pay attention? Don’t you see that on the days you fast, you do what you want to do? You mistreat all your workers. Don’t you see that when you fast, you quarrel and fight and beat your workers? The way you fast today keeps you from being heard in heaven. Is this the kind of fasting I have chosen? Should people humble themselves for {only} a day? Is fasting just bowing your head like a cattail and making your bed from sackcloth and ashes? Is this what you call fasting? Is this an acceptable day to the Lord? This is the kind of fasting I have chosen: Loosen the chains of wickedness, untie the straps of the yoke, let the oppressed go free, and break every yoke. Share your food with the hungry, take the poor and homeless into your house, and cover them with clothes when you see {them} naked. Don’t refuse to help your relatives. Then your light will break through like the dawn, and you will heal quickly. Your righteousness will go ahead of you, and the glory of the Lord will guard you from behind. Then you will call, and the Lord will answer. You will cry for help, and he will say, “Here I am!” Get rid of that yoke. Don’t point your finger and say wicked things. Isaiah 58:1-9 (GW)

I am free to do all things; but not all things are wise. I am free to do all things; but I will not let myself come under the power of any. Food is for the stomach and the stomach for food, and God will put an end to them together. But the body is not for the desires of the flesh, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body: 1 Cor 6:12-13 (BBE)

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1 (KJV)

Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 1 Sam 15:22 (KJV)

And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. Mark 9:28-29 (KJV)

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. Matt 17:20-21 (KJV)

PRAYER

Father, Although You have prompted me to enter into this 21-day fast, I know it is beyond me. This is a supernatural move to break the strongholds of our society. We are loosed from societal ills that plaque us in religion, family, education, government, media, entertainment and business. The wall of racism that polarizes our society is being broken down along with strife, dissension, and deception. Turn the hearts, minds and souls of the leaders and the people back to You to heal our country and our world as we await a great move of Your Holy Spirit.  Amen
